Dear Comrades,

INDEFINITE NATIONWIDE STRIKE FROM 5^TH JULY 2011

            The Central JCA of NFPE, FNPO and GDS unanimously decided to go on nationwide indefinite strike from 5^th July 2011 protesting against the unilateral orders of the department to close down large scale post offices and RMS offices and also settlement of the long pending demands of the PO and RMS employees including Gramin Dak Sevaks.

            The 25 points charter of demands is submitted which includes finalization of cadre restructuring proposals, filling up of vacant posts, declaring SBCO staff as divisional cadre, stop harassment of SBCO officials under contributory cases etc.

            On the eve of strike – Demonstrations, Dharnas and Circle Conventions are being conducted with all success throughout the country.

            During 6^th and 7^th June 11, the Secretary Department of Posts had discussion with Central JCA leaders on the charter of demands. No consensus could be arrived and hence the talks failed. The strike preparation should be intensified in all circles and divisions.

            Strike notice will be served on 14.6.11 and Circle Secretaries may also serve a copy to all CPMGs. Kindly ensure full participation of our Association & SBCO employees in all campaign programmes and make the 5^th July 2011 strike a grand success. Charter of demands is enclosed. Kindly translate into local language and circulate among all SBCO staff.

            All India Joint Convention of JCA is scheduled to hold at Chennai (Tamilnadu) on 19.6.2011. Circle Secretaries and All India Office bearers should attend the convention without fail. Before attending the conference, please contact me over phone or confirm your attendance through SMS.
